What’s up everyone I am a new member and, I've been rummaging throughout the galleries. I must say all of you guys and gals are awesome, I have a lot to learn from all of you, and I am happy to be apart of a group that shares a similar appreciation for creating artwork invoking the fantastic, strange, and wonderful.
I originally posted this piece in the Spectacular challenge. My Goal was to render what I believe is a true symbolic image of Satan and Christ in the Temptation scene depicted in the bible. Matthew 4:5-11 and Luke 4:5-8. I also wanted to create an image that was contradictory to those biblical images of the orthodox.
1. I did not want Satan to look evil or have wings. I wanted him to have feminine characteristics, appear powerful, and bright, almost ethereal.
2. I wanted to depict Christ as plain and vulnerable.
3. I wanted to show how I believe angels and God traverse space, hence the flying saucer at the edge of the cliff.
Feel free to point out all flaws, I’m sure there are many. Lol
Thanks, and good luck to all those who entered the Spectacular challenge.
