This is a character design for my comic book called The Grocery. His name is Lesley, and he is the Incompetent Genius because his intelligence dealing with science is great, but his arrogance and megalomania complex makes him a total dunce socially. The piece on the left was done traditionally by hand, using prisma color pencils and watercolor, with a little color correction and effect work in Photoshop.

Job: Assistant Manager at PubliK Grocers during summer vacation. Sophomore in College.

DISLIKES: Annoying employees, of course all his fellow employees are annoying to him.

LIKES: Science. He is studying to be a propulsion engineer.

SUPER POWER: Lesley has the unique ability to be both a scientific genius and an inept fool simultaneously.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Lesley is quite a unique young man. He is a geeky genius who believes he is the sexiest man on Earth. Les is essentially the amalgamation of a militant angry black man and a mad scientist, or how I like to put it a merge between Malcom X and Nikola Tesla.

His Intellect hath no bounds, all kneel before the Wisdom of LES!
