This is the second piece that I entered into the G vs. E contest.

In the book of Genesis it speaks of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Though many believe it to have been an actual tree which actually bore the forbidden fruit, it is actually a metaphor. Trees in the old testament were often used as metaphors for persons or entities. In this case the Tree was a metaphor for Satan or the serpent. The fruits he bore were lies mingled with truth. On a deeper level the tree actually refers to the tree of the body which is the spine and nervous system, which connects to the brain, which allows consciousness, which allows thought, which then opens the way to choice. The choice between Good and evil, the ultimate opposites or Dualities depending on how you look at it. Some would argue that you can't have one without the other.
